This season, their newborn sweetness, it all changes too fast. Within days they no longer have that smooshed freshly born look anymore, and within weeks they’ll start to look less like a newborn and more like an infant. Documenting those sweet, tender moments - whether while still in the hospital with a baby bracelet and an ink covered sole of their foot, or cozied up at home with the whole family - you won’t regret it. Those early weeks can feel so long and tiring, but this season is so short… get the photos, have the memories documented.

LIFESTYLE NEWBORN.

They’re only this little once. Those sleep deprived nights feel so long, but for me, I always feel like I blink and the newborn stage is suddenly over. I do my best to hold onto every detail, but all too soon do those first 8 weeks fly by and my squishy, wrinkly, fuzzy little newborn is already holding their head up and ready to see the world around them. Let me capture every wrinkle and roll, tiny finger and toe, every perfect little detail so that as they grow, you have these tender images to look back on.

You’ve got enough on your plate, so let’s make newborn photos easy! You don’t need a perfectly organized home to get gorgeous newborn photos. We’ll use the best light and the spots that feel just right and let your new love and connection get us the images we want!

FRESH 48.

There is no experience quite like those first few days after birth. Hours ago they were nestled inside the only home they ever knew, and now they’re in this big new world around them. Those first few days are so sweet and so tender. The emotions are raw, the love is overwhelming, and every moment is heightened. You’ll never see that same baby again. In just a few days, they’ll have changed. Still small, still perfect, but different. Let’s freeze those moments and capture the love in the room where your life forever changed.

Fresh 48 sessions typically take place in the birth setting 24-48 hours after birth. No need to worry about how you look - these are to celebrate your beautiful new bond so that one day you can show your baby the first few moments of their life.
There is no time limit on this session. If baby needs fed or changed (or hey, if you need a new diaper too, I get it, I’ve been there… twice!), that’s a-okay!

FAQs

Most clients who have hospital births have the Fresh 48 session while still in the hospital. This allows us to capture all of the sweet details of your hospital stay and the place where you made your first memories together. However, if you would prefer the comfort of your own home, that works too! If you’re having a home birth or birthing at a birth center, your Fresh 48 session will take place at your home.
For Lifestyle Newborn sessions, while we can absolutely do it somewhere else, choosing to have your newborn session at home allows for a more relaxed and natural environment. It allows us to capture all the details in their nursery, snuggles on your bed or the couch, AND, it means you don’t have to go anywhere after having freshly birthed a baby!
One of the beautiful things about Lifestyle Newborn sessions is that it’s all about the baby’s schedule! On average, sessions last about 1 hour, however if it takes longer because baby needs to feed or needs a little snuggle, that is a-okay! There’s no time limit on a newborn’s needs.
Just when you figured out what fit while pregnant, boom! A postpartum body you now have to figure out. Trust me, I get it! Whatever you feel comfortable in is the perfect outfit choice. I’ve had families wear matching pajamas sets, some who have brought in friends to do their hair and make up, and others who had the family pose in whatever they were naturally wearing that day. Whatever works for you, works for me!
Life with a newborn can be tiring enough on its own, the last thing you need during this time is to stress about what the whole family should wear. So, if you need my help, I’m here! I always say it’s best to opt for simplicity, soft or neutral tones, and delicate or simple patterns. Not only do they naturally create a gentle, calm feel, but they also photograph well! Absolutely! I always encourage getting some whole family shots as well as some with just the siblings. Seeing older siblings bond with their newest sibling is always so sweet. The natural connection they have, their bonding moments and gentle touches, eep! It’s one of my favorite aspects to lifestyle newborn sessions!
Same goes with grandparents! Have a parent or in-law in town to help with baby? If you want to have a few photos with them, let’s do it! Generational photos are some of the most beautiful, story telling images in my opinion.
And while we’re at it, your fur baby is allowed during the session if you want, too! It’s entirely up to you and what you want!
